Today's selection was chosen after seeing Anne-Marie Slaughter's April 3, 2011 retweet of the following from Kuwaiti journalist Mona Kareem:
Dr. Anne-Marie Slaughter is Dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Bert G. Kerstetter '66 University Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University. Until February 2011, she served in the Obama administration as Director of Policy Planning for the U.S. Department of State. Mona Kareem is a 23-year-old journalist for Al-Rai newspaper and author of two published poetry collections, with a B.A in English and Comparative Literature from the American University of Kuwait.

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
